South-West Roadshow Advert
President Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR inaugurated a National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG) with the responsibility for implementing the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) in February 2004.
This was in response to the poor public (local and international) perception of the institutions, systems and procedures for the generation, allocation, accounting and management of revenues derived from minerals extraction.
The NSWG seeks to address this situation through measures that can improve the capacity of Civil Society Organizations to constructively engage Governments at all levels- Local, State and Federal- in the demand for accountability as well as ask the right questions of the Extractive Industries.
A two-day workshop (Road Show) is therefore planned for the 1st and 2nd of December 2005 at the Ocean View Restaurant, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
