In carrying out its duty of ensuring transparency in the Nigerian Extractive Industries (EI), the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) engaged the Hart Group, through an international competitive tender, to conduct comprehensive and independent Financial, Physical and Process Audits of Covered Entities in the Nigerian EI.
Interim Reports from the on-going audits, to be completed at the end of March 2006, have been submitted to the NEITI Secretariat.
In order to ensure that the Audit results are comprehensible, accessible and user friendly to the different publics, particularly the Nigerian public and community groups, a series of International High Level Consultative Roundtable Discussions are convened by the NEITI Secretariat to dissect the Reports and to formulate strategies to communicate them.
